About the event
Experience an evening of wine tastings, conversation and steppin' with Chicago's Legendary Sam Chatman as he joins us for this month's Wine Collective, Monday September 25 from 6-9pm to celebrate his legacy of steppin'.
Sam Chatman, known DJ and "Godfather of Steppin' Music", coined the phrase "steppin' " back in the 1970s when the dance first started to takeoff. Soon becoming a popular craze all over Chicago, and Chatman's stepper sets becoming the go-to spot for steppers - Sam Chatman managed to be a broker peace between Chicago gangs.
Hosted by his daughter, Emmy Award winning journalist, Samantha Chatman, with wine tastings selected by sommelier Eli Jackson.
Samantha, who grew up in Chicago's Hyde Park neighborhood, now serves as a Consumer Investigative Reporter and Anchor for the city's number 1 news station, ABC 7 Chicago which she joined in September of 2019. Thrilled to work at the station she watched growing up, ABC 7 was the inspiration for her career in broadcast journalism.
