WINE 101 W/ ALEX MCNEELY
Lets get bubbly!
Join us from 6pm to 9pm for a "Wine 101" digging deep into the many varieties of sparkling wines. As always we'll have delicious food to compliment the bubbles. Our Sommelier for the evening is Alex McNeely. Alex McNeely has 16 years of experience in the beverage industry. His focus evolved from coffee to beer, to spirits, and finally, after realizing the magic that can happen in a bottle over time, to a lifelong devotion to wine. Before moving to Chicago in 2020, Alex spent ten years as a Sommelier and Wine Director in New York City, running wine programs at notable restaurants such as The Spotted Pig and Lilia. Outside of hospitality, he has recently completed a degree in Enology and Viticulture at Lake Michigan College, and in 2022 he made wine on the Sonoma Coast in California as well as Oregon’s Willamette Valley. Alex currently sells wine for Candid Wines, a local distributor focused on representing small, family-owned producers who are, first and foremost, good stewards of the land they tend.
