The team developing the Bronzeville Winery is led by Eric Williams, the founder and owner of
The Silver Room, an independent retail and community art space in Chicago. Over the course of 20 years, the Silver Room has served two prominent Chicago neighborhoods, bridging community, culture, and commerce to support independent artists and generate opportunities for creatives to connect. For the Bronzeville Winery, Williams is partnering with global hospitality design trailblazer, Cecilia Cuff of The Nascent Group. The Nascent Group is a hospitality and urban design & entrepreneurial equity incubator founded in Chicago in 2011 and after completing projects all over the globe, this was the perfect homecoming project. Specializing in creating innovative and inclusive spaces through urban planning, art installation, concept renovation for hotels, restaurants and retail spaces, The Nascent Group advocates for the good of all by designing systems that weigh sustainability, diversity and art alongside revenue, reach, profitability and productivity to establish sustainable communities. This idea of reciprocity through business plays an important role in the operating philosophy of The Bronzeville Winery. The team’s goal in the design of the Bronzeville Winery experience is encouraging guests to spend time, to socialize and network in an inviting space that's both comfortable and engaging. With décor highlighting a revolving art collection, the space will bring to life the cultural breadth of this city within a city. Through a state-of-the-art 360 sound system designed by Chicago's pioneering DJ's, the space is positioned to offer a well curated playlist, live music and DJ residency that is perfect for an intimate conversation or dancing once dinner service concludes.
Guests of the Winery will enjoy a rotating wine list with selections from around the world highlighting African American owned labels paired with an ever changing seasonal menu that features comfort foods, reimagined with house grown greens as well as locally grown and produced ingredients. The intention of Bronzeville Winery is to create a menu that is as eloquent, interesting and dynamic as the history that shaped the South side of Chicago. With sharing at its core, the Bronzeville Winery will feature a menu paying homage to the flavors of the African diaspora paired with wine, craft cocktails and beer for every palate, served in a comfortable, welcoming location for the community to gather. The Bronzeville Winery will be a celebration of Bronzeville, a storied history refined by a modern revitalization that has put the neighborhood in the spotlight.

Dedicated to engaging the community, the Bronzeville Winery will feature programming that is representative of the voices of Chicago featuring wine talks, art openings and curated cultural events.
The space is also available for private events such as corporate events, community talks, weddings and celebrations on Mondays and Tuesdays. Both reflecting and enhancing the rich heritage of the neighborhood we call home, the Bronzeville Winery will provide an essential addition to cultural life in Bronzeville that is long overdue.
